Breed clubs are the backbone of the English Bulldog community. They preserve the breed standard, sanction specialty shows, promote ethical breeding practices, coordinate rescue efforts, and provide community for Bulldog lovers at every level of involvement — from first-time owners to multi-generation exhibitors.
National Organizations
American Kennel Club (AKC)
The premier purebred dog registry in the United States. The AKC registers Bulldogs, sanctions conformation shows, and maintains the official breed standard in the US. Founded in 1884, the AKC provides resources for owners, breeders, and exhibitors at all levels.
Bulldog Club of America (BCA)
The AKC parent club for the English Bulldog breed in the United States. The BCA is responsible for the official breed standard, sanctioned specialty shows, the BCA Rescue Network, breeder referral, and educational resources for Bulldog owners and breeders. Membership is open to all Bulldog enthusiasts.
BCA Division I — Eastern United States
The Bulldog Club of America is organized into geographic divisions. The following clubs are affiliated with Division I of the BCA, which covers the northeastern United States:
Bulldog Club of New Jersey
Serving New Jersey and surrounding areas. Hosts regional specialty shows and educational events.
Bulldog Club of Philadelphia
One of the older regional Bulldog clubs in the country, serving the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The Bulldog Club (UK)
The original Bulldog club, founded in England in 1875 — the oldest single-breed club in the world. The breed originated in England and remains hugely popular there.
